Glitchhikers: The Spaces Between is a game about the thoughts that arise on the way from one destination to another, about meditative journeys when consciousness detaches from the body and explores the depths of our inner self. Set off on a midnight highway, on a quiet morning train, through a moonlit park, or linger while waiting for a plane at an empty airport, and ponder your place in the universe amidst strange music and endless announcements about flight delays.
A long road is the best place for reflection. Glitchhikers invites you to look inside yourself, find answers to the questions that concern you, and rethink them anew. Think about life, the universe, and your place and purpose in it. The game’s narrative promises you a certain level of freedom, an encounter with endless inevitability, and a vast, hopeful world to explore.
A Journey Through a Free Narrative
In this game, no one forces you to do anything, it’s impossible to lose, and there are no optimal routes – only many possible paths, each one different from the last. Glitchhikers: The Spaces Between is an introspective open-world game where you choose a direction and go on a journey through your own thoughts. And the characters you meet will help you not to get lost.
Endless Journey
A midnight highway, a deserted airport hall, a walk in the park under a full moon, a quiet carriage of a morning train, a 24-hour store. This route has no end point, and the meditative change of scenery creates the perfect atmosphere for contemplation and reflection.
Surreal characters
On any of the chosen paths, you will meet random fellow travelers (hikers), conversations with whom can make you stop and think carefully about what is happening around you. Who will you meet? What will you start a conversation about? And are your interlocutors real or just a figment of your imagination?
The music here largely sets the atmosphere of the game. During your travels, you will be accompanied by cold grooves, then inspiring, dreamy synth compositions. Each journey will have its own mood.
A complete reading of the cult game
Glitchhikers: The Spaces Between expands the boundaries of the world of the original Glitchhikers (a short conceptual game released in 2014). The new edition fully implements the concepts embedded in it and offers users an even deeper and more educational adventure.
