London, 1592. The Great Plague has swept through the capital. As doctors flee the city in fear, a hero rises. His name is Simon Forman, “Doctor” of Astrology, Astronomy, and Physics. Not only can he cure the sick, but he can also find their lost pets and predict their future! All by reading the movements of the stars. But when the plague ends, Forman’s problems begin. Real doctors are returning to London, and they will stop at nothing to destroy it…
Play as “Doctor” Simon Forman, an unlicensed physician and astrologer, and help him obtain his medical license. Astrologaster is a comedy, narrative-driven game.
Explore Forman’s life, his work, and his relationships with clients. Make choices while conducting astrological readings. Choose strategically or make decisions without thinking – but remember that your choices will have consequences (and unpredictable side effects!).
13 clients come to you 5-7 times seeking advice on personal, professional and medical problems. By studying the stars in the sky, you diagnose and find answers to your clients’ problems. In addition to influencing the plot, these decisions will change the level of satisfaction of your clients. Satisfied clients will write you letters of recommendation, and if you have enough of these, you can get a medical license from the University of Cambridge.
So-called “real” (licensed) doctors call Foreman a charlatan and a fraud. Help Foreman prove these elitist members of the medical establishment wrong!
