Game description

Make friends, play cards, bend the rules, become a Mega Mutant Power Pets master, and save the world in a single-player RPG about growing up in the 90s. On her first day at Dudsdale Elementary, 10-year-old Jess gets everyone’s favorite collectible card game banned, forcing the kids to play cards on the sly. Trouble begins when mutants from the game take over the real world, and it’s up to Jess and her friends to stop them.

From award-winning indie studio Gambrinous, creators of Guild of Dungeoneering, comes an RPG that pits combat against each other using an epic collectible card game. Cardpocalypse takes you back to the 1990s, when computers had floppy disk drives and everyone read magazines to figure out codes for their games. You’ll discover Dudsdale Elementary as you go on a mission to build a killer deck of cards in an attempt to defeat the mutants. You’ll have to trade, earn, bet, change the rules, and constantly upgrade your cards to win.

Key Features:

  • BECOME A CHAMPION: Build a deck using the ultra-rare Champion cards you’ve earned. Each Champion has unique abilities that you can use to upgrade your deck. The first player to reduce their opponent’s Champion card’s health to zero wins the match.
  • MEGA TURN: Champion cards transform into Mega Forms when their health is reduced to half, dealing increased attack damage and gaining new abilities.
  • CHANGE THE GAME: Kids sometimes use house rules, but you never know what the Mutants will change. Throughout the game, you’ll choose new rules and conditions, as well as rename your favorite cards and upgrade them with stickers. Create entirely new cards with the Mega Mutant Power Journal. But be warned, decisions made cannot be reversed.
  • CATCH THE BULLY: Venture throughout the school to solve strange happenings in Dudsdale Elementary. Complete quests to earn cards, stickers, and candy that you can sell to your classmates. Be careful, there’s no going back!
  • YOU CAN’T COLLECT THEM ALL: In the end, your decks and rules will be unique to you. Stickers are rare, every choice matters, and sometimes you’ll have to make tough decisions to get the best cards.
  • 1990s: With an absolutely stunning interactive story driven by choice, Cardpocalypse gives you the chance to relive your childhood in the 90s. Yep!
  • Gauntlet Mode is here, where every run is unique! Choose a champion and take on increasingly difficult battles. Each victory will give you new cards, rules, and rewards for your deck. Can you build the best combination and beat the obstacle course?
