The new expansion – IL-2 STURMOVIK: CLIFFS OF DOVER – BLITZ – includes the air forces of Italy, Germany and Great Britain. You will see duels between the maneuverable biplanes Gladiator and CR-42 model of 1940 and battles between the fast Macchi and reliable Kittyhawk of the later period of 1941-42. You will be able to pilot such legendary types as the Martlet, Hurricane and Spitfire, fighting against deadly Messerschmitts far from the main theater of operations. Fighter pilots of all levels will have the opportunity to test themselves in an exciting campaign based on historical events.

For fans of heavy multi-engine aircraft, there are new bombers and torpedo bombers, including several Wellington variants, new modifications of the Heinkel He-111 and the versatile Ju-88. In addition, this add-on includes the heavy Beaufighter fighter, as well as its German counterpart, the Ju-88C, which debuts in the game in four effective variants.

• The DESERT WINGS – TOBRUK add-on includes over 40 new aircraft types and variants, as well as tropical modifications of existing aircraft from CLIFFS OF DOVER. Such diversity allows you to recreate the entire campaign period, from the very first days to mid-1942.
• The 385 x 385 km North African map features the fortified city of Tobruk and its surrounding terrain, including desert, sea and coastal cliffs, over 75 airfields, a range of settlements and landmarks, a comprehensive road network, as well as historical fortifications, minefields and defensive lines.
• In addition to the desert variants of the vehicles from the Battle of Britain, over 25 new tanks, artillery pieces and vehicles await you. You will be able to recreate the epic land battles in great detail.
• The navies of Great Britain, Italy and Germany are represented by huge battleships, as well as cruisers, destroyers, patrol and torpedo boats, submarines and transport ships. The total number of new naval units exceeds 15. Among them are both British and Italian models, historically correct for the TOBRUK map, and ships of the German and British fleets, suitable for the original CLIFFS OF DOVER – BLITZ map.
• The level of detail of the aircraft has been significantly increased. This includes both purely visual effects (such as engine dust), as well as improved flight models, damage, propellers and engine overheating, as well as a completely new nitrous oxide injection system.
• The improvements to the game graphics include a new anti-aliasing system, increased viewing range, improved landscape modeling and increased object detail. In addition to new dust special effects specially created for the desert, the game has been updated with reworked explosion, smoke and small particle effects.
• A flawless multiplayer system supporting over 100 users and dozens of AI-controlled aircraft guarantees intense and exciting air battles.
• New AI routines significantly increase the realism of computer opponents in single-player campaigns. Such campaigns are available for the Italian, German and British air forces.
• A new editor allows players to create their own combat operations and even entire campaigns.
• Continuing the Channel campaign on the CLIFFS OF DOVER – BLITZ map with new aircraft, ground vehicles and ships covering the period from October 1940 to August 1941.
