Game description

Hardly any other bus has changed the cityscape as much as the MAN DN95.

This double-decker bus, originally called the MAN ND202, belongs to Berlin just like the Brandenburg Gate, the Reichstag or the TV tower.

It offered 71 seats, with 21 more standing.

Now, this racing car can be used for the first time in OMSI 2 thanks to the MAN DN95 add-on.

The prototype was developed by MAN (chassis) and ABB Henschel (superstructure) until 1994, and series production began in 1995.

It featured several innovations, such as the low-floor design, the hinged door behind the rear axle or the LCD display, which some models were equipped with.

The bus received a third door behind the second axle specifically for faster passenger changeover.

Passengers with limited mobility were also taken into account during the design.

For the first time, a double-decker bus was made in a low-floor design.

That’s why it bore the proud title:

The world’s first low-floor double-decker bus, which debuted in Berlin public transport BVG.

BVG received a total of 86 vehicles and used them until 2010.

This series of vehicles was replaced by their famous successor – MAN Lion’s City DD, which is used in the Berlin X10 add-on.

No matter how often and how much this vehicle was used, it also had a big drawback – its height.

With a height of 4.12 m, the vehicle could only cross certain bridges in Berlin, which had been checked and approved in advance.

However, even the rich sound on the lower deck was not to everyone’s taste. But this is a distinctive feature of the MAN DN 95, because it had a stationary engine.

In addition, there were also excursion variants, with a folding roof in the summer, so that guests could have a good view of the sights on the upper deck. The MAN DN95 is also used in other cities for excursion tours. Thus, the MAN DN95 has become a bit international, and is now used in several cities in Europe.

Of course, the excursion variants are part of the add-on.

Numerous variants, detailed implementation and original sounds complete this add-on.
