Carcassonne is a modern adaptation of the classic tile-based game in which players create a board map by laying down square tiles depicting the landscape of medieval France. A tile may include a city, a road, a monastery, a pasture, or a combination of several features, and it must be placed next to already laid tiles so that all features are connected by roads, including road to road. The player can then place one of his subjects, called “Meeples”, on one of the territories: a city as a knight, a road as a robber, a monastery as a monk, or a grass tile as a farmer. When a particular tile is completed, the “Meeples” collect points for the owner of the area. Each new game is a new experience, thanks to the constantly changing landscape.
