Company of Crime is a turn-based tactical combat game about building a criminal empire
the action takes place in 1960s London, the cultural capital of the world,
home to many businesses and informal youth movements. Your task is to create a company that can
take over the criminal world, or as a senior inspector lead the famous Scotland Yard Flying Squad and restore order to the city. As you go, you will expand your sphere of influence, visiting pubs, clubs, veterinary clinics, tailor shops, ports and other corners of the city. You will be able to recruit gangsters with various skills that make it easier to commit crimes, or detectives with many successful investigations to their credit. Who will prevail in this battle for London? That is the question that you will have to answer.
Features:
Tactical turn-based combat
Company of Crime differs from other turn-based combat games in that it focuses on hand-to-hand combat and close-quarters combat. Each of your units has a zone of control, so their placement has a lot to do with it. You can block the enemy’s path, overwhelm them with numbers, and attack from behind, gaining an attack bonus. You can also kick an enemy to throw them aside and prevent them from hitting your fighter as they pass by. And if one of the opponents gets a gun, you need to either hide or take the weapon away from him before he shoots your entire squad.
Humor
When doing dirty work, it is advisable to avoid unnecessary noise. If you hear gunfire or a shootout starts, you will only attract attention to yourself – and a criminal empire whose members operate in plain sight will not last long. It is better to be careful than to deal with the consequences later, because if the cops take you seriously, you will not be able to get rid of them so easily.
Walking through missions
This is not a child’s game of cat and mouse. On a mission, you will have to think not only
about health points and stamina. If you beat the crap out of a pub owner,
don’t rush out right away. First, you need to get rid of all evidence that points to your involvement in the crime – and you need to do it before the police arrive.
Setting Up a Legitimate Business for Criminal Purposes
To avoid getting busted, you need a legal cover. Throughout the game
you’ll have to, ahem, “convince” home and business owners to sell you their property at a bargain price or let your guys into their back room without asking any questions. The more businesses you control, the more items and opportunities you have available to you, but the risk of being raided by the police or a rival gang increases.
It’s Not Just Your Story
Your goal is to build a criminal empire or bring criminals to justice, but it’s not just your story. It’s also a story about 1960s London, with the beatniks, mods, rockers, and other underground movements of the era. It’s also a story about the fall of an empire. Cold War Britain is a leading cultural power, but it’s under increasing pressure from both within and without. A mysterious order has set out to destroy the British Empire, and only criminal masterminds and the infamous Flying Squad can stop them.
Police Operations
Criminals operate away from prying eyes, so the police can only take action if they receive a tip-off. But sitting around and waiting for reports of incidents isn’t the best strategy. You must send agents to investigate suspicious establishments, talk to informants, and obtain search warrants. The main thing is, when you make an arrest, don’t let the criminals get rid of the evidence, otherwise they will go free again.
