Two levels of command
The game provides an unprecedented level of strategic depth, allowing you to take on two roles at once – a theater commander and a frontline commander.
As a theater commander, you will get an exciting turn-based grand strategy in which you will manage the deployment of troops, research technologies and carefully consider the distribution of precious resources across the Western Front. As a frontline commander, you will command units and divisions in dynamic battles in real time. Defeat your enemies, dig trenches, and storm impenetrable enemy fortifications! Choose your battles and fight to change the course of history.
Living World
As you fight on the Western Front, you will return to the sites of past battles and see the scars and destruction that mark past clashes. Picturesque meadows will be turned into muddy messes, and the ground will be pockmarked with shell craters.
Put your strategic plans into practice on the ground by creating complex trench systems. They will remain there until your return, when you will push the enemy back meter by meter. Changes in the weather also play a role – as the conflict drags on, you will encounter snow and rain. Different weather conditions affect the effectiveness of artillery and the speed of troop movement. To achieve victory, you will need to think through a strategy taking all conditions into account.
Historical Authenticity
Enjoy the most accurate historical strategy game that conveys the gravity of the Great War. The game was developed in collaboration with the Imperial War Museum in London. The knowledge of the museum staff helped us to depict this turning point in history as accurately as possible.
Lead historical infantry units armed with weapons, artillery and tanks relevant to the period. Feel like a real commander of the First World War, think through tactics and deploy troops across the Western Front.

Play as the Entente or the Central Powers, making tactical and strategic decisions that will ensure victory both on the battlefield and across the entire theater of war. Both sides have unique features and offer their own style of play.
A new game every time
Every campaign will be unique. Every decision you make, even the smallest one, can affect the outcome of the war. Implement new military technologies ahead of schedule if you managed to research them faster. The ability to change the course of the war and the whole of history is in your hands!
The game offers four exciting game modes. Go through the crucible of the First World War in the Campaign, relive its key episodes in Historical Battles, create your own battles in Skirmish mode or challenge other players in the Network game. What the Great War will be like for you is up to you.
