X3: Albion Prelude (2011)
The events of X3: Albion Prelude unfold in the time period between the old X-Universe and the new one. The game showcases a rapidly changing universe and prepares players for what’s to come. The old X-Universe is fading; a new one is about to be created.
X3: Farnham’s Legacy (2021; available in English and German)
X3: Farnham’s Legacy is a new game in the X3 space game series, developed by a group of dedicated fans from Egosoft’s DevNet community. X3: Farnham’s Legacy takes place years after X3: Albion Prelude, during the chaos caused by the Closing of the Gate. The game begins very differently from previous X3 games. Trapped in a cut-off corner of space, you must first use the new exploration features to return to civilization. Then, once there, you can use the new diplomacy features to build relationships with the factions you’ve discovered.
