Fading Embers is the third part of This War of Mine: Stories. In this episode, you will learn the story of Anya, which will not leave anyone indifferent. A heavy burden of choice falls on the shoulders of a girl from a war zone: she must decide for herself what is more important – preserving cultural heritage or the life of an individual.
The DLC contains new locations in Pogoren and its surroundings, new habitable shelters, improved locations from the original game, new playable characters and residents of Pogoren. But the most important thing in ‘Fading Embers’ is a new non-linear narrative with multiple endings that depend on the player’s decisions. Since the plot focuses on preserving cultural heritage, new gameplay mechanics include collecting art objects, deciding their fate, and much more.
